When you work in a busy role, as many office
and facilities managers do, slowing down can be a difficult thing to embrace.
When it comes to summer, we often have lots of expectations: holidays to plan, social calendars to fill, endless activities to squeeze into longer days. But what if this year, instead of chasing after a busy summer, you chose to slow down and savour it?
At Radiance Services, we believe that true wellbeing comes from listening to what your body and soul truly need, and sometimes that means doing less, not more.
Slowing down doesn’t mean missing out. In fact, it might help you experience more: more presence, more connection, and more joy in the simple moments. Imagine waking up without rushing to your next plan, letting yourself enjoy a slow morning coffee in the garden, or taking a quiet walk first thing before the world wakes up.
This summer, we urge you to consider creating small rituals that anchor you in the present.
●
Visit a local
makers market or farm shop and take your time choosing fresh produce or local
wares
●
Plan a picnic
in the park with good food and your favourite book or some summer games for the
family
● End your day with an evening stroll, enjoying the warm evenings and maybe picking up an ice cream or drink in the sunshine
Saying “yes” to a slower summer also means
learning to say “no.”
Give yourself permission to skip events that drain your energy or feel more like obligations than joy. Rest and relaxation are just as valuable as activity and excitement.
This July, let’s resist the urge to overfill our calendars and instead invite in some space. Let’s savour each warm day not as a race to accomplish, but as an opportunity to simply be.
Your most radiant summer might not be the busiest one, but the one where you feel most present, grounded, and alive.
