One of our key goals at Radiance Property Services is striving for excellence in everything we do, and for us, excellence means being responsible for our environmental impact and continuing to improve our sustainability strategy. With this goal in mind, we began talks with the Planet Mark community on how we could monitor and reduce our carbon footprint. We are working closely with them to improve our company’s sustainability practices and become a Planet Mark-certified company.
Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for every type of organisation. A Planet Mark certification recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals who are working to make the world a more sustainable place.
Achieving Planet Mark certification entails monitoring everything we do as a company – from water and electricity usage across the business to our waste, recycling and fuel consumption. This allows us – with Planet Mark’s support – to put together a clear picture of how our business impacts the environment and how we can reduce our carbon footprint.
On average, Planet Mark certified businesses cut 12% of their carbon emissions each year, as well as a 16% annual carbon saving per employee through reductions in energy, waste, water, travel and procurement. 99% of Planet Mark members achieve their targets in order to renew their certification year on year.
The key to making a business more sustainable is to measure everything you do and then take steps to act upon these learnings. We are looking at every activity we undertake as a Boutique Facilities Management company, ensuring that sustainability is embedded within our business at every level with the goal to become carbon neutral, then carbon negative. With the help of Planet Mark and their community, we are well set to achieve this.
